[ANN] PDF 4 Smalltalk

I am proud to announce an open source PDF implementation. I will give a talk about this at ESUG (on Wednesday, 10:30, according to current schedule). The presentation will be available at Origo (see below) after the talk. I just published the bundles to the Cincom public store: - Fonts Development - PDF Development It is developed in VisualWorks 7.8 and should work with older versions. If not, please give me a note. The bundle comment of {PDF Development}: 8<------------------------ Read and write PDF files. Support for PDF as defined by the ISO standard PDF 32000-1:2008 (see http://www.adobe.com/devnet/pdf/pdf_reference.html) Look at Document class in Package [PDF Development] to find simple demos to get you started. Dear Juraj, your help with videoing the talks will be useful. I must agree with Marcus - to set up live streaming at this point would require someone with strong background in it, I think. We are set up to video the talks, and have internet, but all beyond that would be to do. Dear Bernat, yes, we'll see if we persuade some of them to come to our Thursday day. Their schedule is now beginning to show talks against Friday afternoon; they obviously go in for a very late "finalise schedule" approach. We'll see what's on offer yet nearer the time. Anyone who is staying long enough on Friday, and not in the Seaside sprint or otherwise occupied, could go to any of them if they wanted. And anyone who's around at the right time on Friday afternoon could certainly offer to repeat their conference talk - or do a follow-on. I _might_ do so myself. Just one of the many "also going on in Edinburgh" things that can enhance your stay - this one of course, highly relevant in subject and conveniently close in time and space. Hi, We are pleased to announce the first version of SmallHarbour. SmallHarbour is a public fork of SeasideHosting, running on top of Pharo, Seaside and Cog - driven by Romain Verduci and Laurent Laffont for ESUG SummerTalk 2011. The main goals are: - people should be able to (easily) setup their own web application deployment platform - provide a public service for hosting web applications. - be able to setup a web application without Smalltalk knowledge in one click. Actually SmallHarbour support Pharo and Seaside, but we expect to support Iliad and AidaWeb framework soon. When an account is created, you can go in Home and click on "Create blog" to deploy a Pier image. More templates to come. The alpha public server is at: http://www.alpha.smallharbour.org.
