Stef, Thanks.... I am hoping that there will be more interaction with Pharo as well ... As I said in a comment on my blog post[1]: ...right now though, our first priority is to smoothly transition from VMware to GemTalk and make sure that our existing customer base (both paid and free) are taken care of. Frankly at the moment there is no second priority:) Once we get things stabilized we will start talking about moving forward and I will be pushing for more active involvement with Pharo. If you haven't already heard, the GemStone/S team is becoming an independent company after 3 years as part of VMware. The entire engineering team is moving to GemTalk Systems[1]. GemTalk Systems is completely focused on Smalltalk, GemStone/S and allied initiatives. Hi, I decided to write a proposal for both the Athens HTML5 Canvas project and the Morphic for Amber project. The Athens project will be my primary (favorite) project and in case it does not get accepted by Google hopefully the Morphic project does. Does that make sense? Is there a way to prioritize the Athens proposal? Juan, would you like to be the primary mentor for the Morphic project? Either way, I plan to do the Morphic project now or after the GSoC (built on top of Athens). Thanks for your ideas and comments! GSOC deadline is really approaching

What is really important is that all the smart students should get some money and help the community to grow and get better. I will propose to the esug board to support (up to the reasonable) projects that would not be funded by google with the money we got from previous year mentors. So this is important that all the students register and write their proposals.
