The trade-off is more background hiss but there's nothing I can do about it. The problem is in the *source material*. I can only work with what I've got. Please note: Of all the recorded talks at Camp Smalltalk Supreme, Dan Ingalls' talk was the *only *one whose audio track Audacity couldn't amplify very much *without clipping*. I have no idea why — I'm not an audio engineer.

So, the amount of amplification is quite modest. However, I did reduce background noise so that you can crank the volume way up on your computer to max. Then you can hear Dan fairly easily.

Hi Richard-- I normalized the audio for you, it's at [1]. You just need to add your sound effect at the beginning again (it's much louder than the rest of the movie; I excluded it from the normalization). The timing should be the same.
